Old fool in the mirror
Believe it, or not, I sliced my fingertip setting up the tripod for this video and had to finger pick with a fresh band-aid on my finger. A few small flubs. One big one at the end. 😑
Anyway, The Old Fool in the Mirror. Written, recorded, and sung fabulously, by Terry Beard and the Moe-D band.

I would if I could (ERNEST cover)
Просмотров 204Месяц назад
While I'm not an avid fan of ERNEST, I have noted that he has had some success as a songwriter. After all, Flowers Shops was a killer song. I wrongly assumed this song had been written by him. Imagine my surprise to learn that it was actually written by Dean Dillon (wrote nearly all of George Strait's hit songs) and Skip Ewing. This was their first collaboration, and Skip has released the "demo...

In 1980 and 1981, I must've listened to this song 1000 times riding around in Bobby Pearce's El Camino, along with every other song Chris Ledoux was selling on his cassettes. I always thought Ledoux wrote it. Nope. Written by Canadian Ian Tyson. Recorded first by Ian and Sylvia Tyson from the girl's point of view. Also recorded by Chris Ledoux, Judy Collins, Moe Bandy and Suzy Boggus. Bandy was...

Something in the orange (Covering Zach Bryan)
Просмотров 95Год назад
From the very first time someone suggested I take a listen, I have been a fan of Zach. The rawness of his voice, the truth in his lyrics, and his rural Country guitar playing are all so very close to what I have always strived for. This was the perfect song to play #ralphsguitar because it is well suited. Also my first video playing guitar with a thumb pick. #somethingintheorange #zachbryan #ma...
The real reason Ed Sheeran rightfully won his lawsuit.

Ed Sheeran rightfully won in his defense against a lawsuit filed by the Marvin Gaye Family Foundation. He won because he demonstrated the absurdity of the suit by bringing his guitar to court and playing songs, but he didn't reveal the real reason his defense prevailed. Check it out!

About 20 years ago, when I was a kid, I spent a lot of time listening to old country- Alan Jackson, George Strait, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, etc... This song does what I feel a lot of music fails to do nowadays- it tells that story in its purest form. No fluff or production, just a man with his guitar telling his story, and in doing so, the story of others. Thank you for making this song. Looking forward to the next one.

On a piano accordion your "wet" is called "musette", the notes beat. The triple courses on a piano are tuned something like this too, sharp, flat, and middle, but only out by a 1 to 4 cents.
